"Former Mozilla exec: Google has sabotaged Firefox for years"

I mean, I think it's obvious at this point that while the chrome team seems to have good intentions, the company around it is a sleazy, immoral ad company. Being an engineer doesn't make you immune to the policies and incentives of the toxic company you work for.

"I'm all for 'don't attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence' but I don't believe Google is that incompetent"

Malice and incompetence are not mutually exclusive. More and more as time has gone by I think Google has too much of both.

@msh @baldur I can't disagree about Google incompotence, at least when it comes to CSS and typography.

On Google Fonts the CSS they package the fonts with is not the most convenient to work against (it confuses the concepts of font files and font familys).

And also on my Odysseus work an early issue that was reported was that text on Google+ was blurry. When I looked into it, Google was explicitly asking for blurry text via -apple-text-aliasing!
