Lots of good progress being made on the PinePhone. The stable version should be ready and fully capable by the time I'm in the market for a new phone (in fact, long before then, most likely).

FossbytesPinePhone 'Community Edition' Linux Phone With Ubuntu Touch: All You Need To KnowBy Sarvottam Kumar

I'm a bit disappointed they stuck a UBPorts logo on the back of this version, but I suppose they probably tossed some money toward Pine64 to help with development, so I can't complain too much.

@ink_slinger I'm pretty sure it's the opposite, tbh - I think pine64 is donating $10 of each purchase of this model to the UBPorts project - think pine64's plan is to do similar Community Edition phones with other projects (postmarket, manjaro, etc) to allow them to raise some funds for their open source work while helping to get more pinephones into the field

@djsundog That actually makes more sense, since I can't imagine the UBPorts team/foundation/whatever has a lot of money. Sort of funny that they're sticking the logo on it, in that case, but that may have been a community request just like putting the Pine64 logo on the PBP's super key.

@ink_slinger @djsundog I may finally put an order in with the arrival of community edition units. I'm not likely to keep the UBPorts installation intact because I just can't leave well enough alone, however I like being able to support such projects.

Plus nothing stopping me from getting a different back without the logo if it bugs me.
