Well it was a blissfully uneventful upgrade to the latest 1.6rc on my instance. One observation I had was that it took a loooooong time for the "update file permissions" step to happen.
Doesn't appear to be a Mastodon thing. The files are on a GlusterFS mount. The performance hit is usually negligible but when it comes to chmod/chown operations it is dismal!
Anyone else have that issue, or better yet a solution that fixes GlusterFS in that regard?
