Not sure I ever dropped a link to this, but it's a cool look not only at a project but also at the various approaches they took on the way to the one they decided best satisfied their needs and wants.

The problem they wanted to solve: how to get a Z80 compy on a tcp/ip network.

Their eventual solution was a custom Z80-PIO-connected tcp/ip offload board.

truly a kick-ass project breakdown, to the point where I'm tempted to set about proving that there's enough detail exposed to re-create it just from this website.


@bamfic @djsundog ESP based communication interfaces are basically dog-wagging tails so it is cool to see something closer to the spirit of the system.
