@msh @sean @Mainebot That depends on what state you're in. In California, I can register "decline to state" and I'm not associated with any party (defaults to nearly-empty primary ballot, but I could request a party ballot for certain parties).
It is possible that some states may require you to join a party (likely one of the #twin_parties).
