I really wish I had a Mos Burger and Yoshinoya where I live. SF is bad for fast food (it’s supposed to be a good thing), but I really want some culturally relevant, rice-based fast food sometimes
There’s a local restaurant that tries to do a Mos Burger clone, bless them, but it’s not for me
@skinnylatte Though it was good I found the food in San Francisco in general to be a let down TBH. I figured it would be world class but, like, Vancouver is better I think (fite me!).
@msh Nope, you're right, SF doesn't have anything on Toronto or Vancouver and the Asian food is especially not as strong. However, part of the reason is again, zoning.
Most of the best immigrant food IS in the 'burbs and the stuff that is in SF is pretty much equivalent to ossified zone 1 central london restaurant food scenes (tho also not as good on that front).
I mainly eat Mexican and South Indian and various Chinese cuisines out here.
SF's most popular dishes / restaurants are the worst
@msh Also a massive let down compared to where I come from, Singapore :)
